UW chancellor on proposed tuition increase

University of Wisconsin-Madison Chancellor Biddy Martin is proposing a new charge on tuition, even in the face of tough economic times. Martin said the fee, $250 per year for in-state tuition and $750 per year for out-of-state tuition, would be used to increase the quality of instruction as well as provide greater access to popular courses and need-based scholarships.
