Hard times hitting newspapers

Print newspapers are facing tough times since the advent of the Internet, but now the economy is straining the industry. Journal Communications, publishers of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the state’s largest newspaper, announced cuts of six percent across all of their organizations, including broadcast and print. Doug Mell joins us from Menomonee to discuss the industry. Mell spent over 25 years in the print industry with the Wisconsin State Journal and Eau Claire Leader Telegraph. He is currently the director of communication at the University of Wisconsin-Stout.
